IT help without a monthly contract

Not every business needs a fully managed IT plan. Maybe your systems mostly take care of themselves and you just need a knowledgeable person to call when something goes wrong. Maybe you have a project coming up, or you want a second opinion before you spend money on new equipment.

That’s what our on-demand service is for. SOHO Logics provides Dallas IT support by the hour, remotely or on-site, with the same experience and care our managed clients get. There’s no contract, no monthly fee and no pressure to sign up for anything. Our rates are published right on this page, so you know what help costs before you pick up the phone.

What we can help with

If it plugs into your network or runs your business, we can probably fix it. Common requests include:

  • Computer problems: slow or crashing PCs and Macs, error messages, failed updates, viruses and pop-ups.
  • Email and Microsoft 365: Outlook issues, mailbox and calendar problems, shared mailboxes, password resets and sign-in trouble.
  • Wi-Fi and network issues: dropped connections, dead zones, slow internet and router or firewall problems.
  • Printers and scanners: setup, drivers, scan-to-email and “it worked yesterday” mysteries.
  • New equipment: setting up computers, moving data from an old machine, and installing software.
  • Small projects: adding a user, setting up a new workstation, cleaning up file sharing, or configuring remote access.
  • Security concerns: a suspicious email someone clicked, a hacked account or a pop-up claiming your computer is infected.

How on-demand support works

  1. Call or email. Tell us what’s going on. We’ll ask a few questions and give you a realistic time frame.
  2. We connect remotely. Most problems can be fixed through a secure remote session, which is faster for you and costs less than a site visit.
  3. We come to you when needed. If the job needs hands-on work, we’ll schedule an on-site visit anywhere in our North Dallas service area.
  4. You get a clear summary. You’ll know what we found, what we fixed and anything we recommend, in plain English.

Hourly rates, minimums and billing increments are listed below. Travel within our primary service area is included in the on-site minimum, and projects, equipment installations and after-hours work are quoted before we begin.

On-demand support or a managed plan?

Hourly support works well when problems are occasional and your team can live with a little downtime while you wait. It’s also a good way to get to know us before making a bigger decision.

A managed plan usually makes more sense when:

  • You’re calling for help more than a couple of times a month.
  • An hour of downtime costs you more than an hour of IT support.
  • Nobody is watching updates, backups or security in between problems.
  • You want a predictable IT budget instead of unpredictable invoices.

Businesses on any of our managed IT plans also receive preferred hourly rates whenever hourly work applies. If you’re not sure which is right for you, ask. We’ll give you an honest answer, even if the answer is “stay hourly.”

Where we provide on-site support

Remote support is available wherever you are. On-site IT support covers Dallas, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Carrollton, Richardson, Irving, Garland, Wylie and the surrounding North Dallas communities. Projects elsewhere in the Greater Dallas area are available by arrangement.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you help?

It depends on the day’s schedule and the urgency of the problem. When you call, we’ll give you a realistic time frame. Many issues can be handled remotely, which is usually the fastest route.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No. On-demand support is billed only for the time you use, with the minimums listed on this page. There’s no monthly fee and no commitment.

How is time billed?

Remote and on-site work are billed hourly, with the minimums and increments shown in our Standard Service Rates. You’ll always know the rate before we begin.

Do you support Macs as well as Windows PCs?

Yes. We support Windows and Mac computers, iPhones and Android devices, and home-office setups for remote employees.

Do you work with home-based businesses?

Yes. SOHO stands for small office/home office, and we’ve been supporting both since 2000. Our focus is business technology, so we’re the right call for your home office, your practice or your small company.

Can hourly support turn into a managed plan later?

Absolutely. Many clients start with a single call. If a plan makes sense later, you’ll already know how we work, and we’ll already know your systems.
